My name is Haley Cannady and I am a student filmmaker and aspiring cinematographer.

I'm currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Film Studies at Hollins University, a majority women university in Roanoke, VA. I am interested in documentary film and am pursuing a minor in political science. I am interested in doing community-based educative projects and/or educative outreach on major problems around our world.

I started my artistic career with violin lessons and dance lessons as a child. Growing up, I then ended up doing a Studio Arts class as a nervous 13 year-old surrounded by wiser, older women. In this first artistic class, I struggled yet perceveered in learning basic anatomy skills in connection to drawing still life. I then furthered my artistic endevours through video production. This is where I found a collaborative passion of photography, music, and writing to create one, cohesive cinematic art. I am continuing this passion at college by creating short films, posted on my YouTube page, and attending film festivals such as the Richmond (VA) French Film Festival and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC.
